Colorado Kidney Care

A complete remodel and tenant finish provided Colorado Kidney Care with the space needed to provide patients with quality care.

Colorado Kidney Care was built in collaboration with Cannon Design and completed in just 10 months. This design-build project was a complete remodel and tenant finish for the 12,943-square-foot surgery center. The project included upgrades to an outdated building to the standards needed to fit an ambulatory surgery center. One of the upgrades included expanding the elevator core to allow the space needed for a gurney.

The renovation also included new patient rooms, updated lobby and waiting room space and new operating rooms (OR’s). Civil and structural elements were also updated to allow for proper drainage around the building, foundations for new generator and egress stairs from existing exterior doors, and reinforcement of the existing roof joists to hold the weight of the new air handling unit for the OR’s.

Extensive exterior work included new landscaping, over $100,000 of civil work requested by the City of Aurora and a new generator roof-top unit (RTU). The new RTU required the reinforcement of the joists on the roof to accommodate the load that was put on the roof.
