(Fort Collins, Colo.) January 23, 2017 – Fort Collins-based Heath Construction, LLC in collaboration with parent company, Saunders Construction, Inc., announced today the transition of key leadership roles that will ensure continued growth and market presence in northern Colorado. Dave Sandlin has been named President of Heath Construction and Randy DeMario, who has served as Heath’s president for 24 years, will move into to an advisory role and facilitate the transition while providing key strategic planning.
“It’s been an honor to lead such a great company over the past 24 years, and I am excited to start a new adventure and engage in other endeavors outside of the organization,” said DeMario. “As I move on to other interests within the community, I have the utmost confidence in Dave Sandlin and his ability to lead the company in continued growth and development.”
Sandlin is responsible for overseeing northern Colorado operations and aims to empower all employees to perform at their highest level and form lasting relationships with customers. Having worked at Saunders for several years, he is integral to perpetuating the company culture that is based on Care, Collaboration, Commitment and Community.
“I see my new role at Heath Construction as an opportunity to support the growth of the company and enhance the environment of professionalism and collaboration,” said Sandlin. “I am excited to move back to northern Colorado and become a contributing member of the local business community. As a company, we are proud to continue the local legacy started by the Heath family over 40 years ago and intend to be a separate, local northern Colorado operation wherein our employees live, work, employ, spend and play in the NOCO neighborhood.”
In addition, several new additions have been made to the growing Heath Construction team including Scott Mikulak, preconstruction manager, and Derek Breier, construction manager. Mikulak will manage the up-front efforts on all negotiated projects and help set up the projects for success.
“The creation of my role means Heath Construction is making a concerted effort to grow our annual quantity of negotiated projects,” commented Mikulak. “I have been working as a preconstruction manager for the last 16 years and now have the opportunity to grow a Preconstruction Department in northern Colorado working alongside the Saunders team.”
Breier oversees operations and ensures the proper resources are in place to make each project successful.
“We have a strong core of operations staff at Heath and I am honored to be here in a position where I can both support them and help them reach their fullest potential,” said Breier. “Our operations team is always working to strengthen our core process and we will work to maintain an innovative atmosphere where our team can work together to constantly improve the way our organization functions.”
